Supply chain sources indicated that Microsoft and Dell had requested to have all their IC sources of supply thoroughly checked – to see if any component stems from the Chinese semiconductor supply chain. This seems to be a preparation for a further shift away from China. Such actions are not just limited to US brands either, amid rumors about Chinese brands diversifying their production for survival.
