Taiwan exports to US surge 87% as trade policy shifts drive shipping rates higher

Taiwan’s May exports to the US jumped 87.4% year-over-year to US$15.52 billion, setting a monthly record, as American importers stockpile goods ahead of potential tariff changes, the Finance Ministry said Monday. Shipments to Southeast Asia rose 52.3%, with technology product exports to both regions more than doubling.
