To combat Chinese companies and satisfy future OLED demand, South Korea-based manufacturers Samsung Display (SDC) and LG Display (LGD) are expediting their investments in 8.6G IT OLEDs. Additionally, LGD announced on September 26 that it has signed a deal with China-based TCL CSOT, agreeing to sell its stake in its large-sized LCD panel and module plant in Guangzhou, China.

At the Security Summit organized by DIGITIMES on September 25, Herming Chiueh, deputy minister at the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA), highlighted the disparity in cybersecurity resources between the government and private sector. He noted that while the government employs about 70,000 staff members, comparable to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), it cannot allocate the same proportion of personnel to cybersecurity as TSMC, which is managed by just 80 engineers.

Dutch semiconductor equipment supplier NTS has officially opened its new assembly and manufacturing facility in Singapore. Serving as a strategic hub for the Asian market, the facility will provide customers in the region with complex mechanical and mechatronic (cleanroom) assemblies.

The US and India recently announced the establishment of a national security fab dedicated to producing chips using compound semiconductors, marking a significant milestone in India’s semiconductor ambitions.
