Of the top 100 supply chain companies in Asia, 96 of them are from Japan, China, Taiwan and South Korea, and they are core surces of influence on the supply chain in Asia. However, these companies are facing the problem of low gross profit, but the problem of low gross profit differs from country to country, and the profit structure of different fields also shows the difference of competitiveness of each country, and the methods and strategies they rely on to adjust the industry structure.

Notebook prospects vary with device models, supply chain segments

As a whole, the notebook market has seen a reversal in demand, with consumer models bearing the brunt of sales downturn. Shipments of education-use Chromebooks, which played a pioneering role in the past two years, have hit bottom due to government budget constraints. Nevertheless, it remains premature to say the notebook industry will return to the pre-2019 trend of decline, given that the new lifestyle brought about by COVID-19 is still evolving and there still exists rigid demand for notebooks, especially commercial models.

Ennoconn, Advantech see increased May revenues

Industrial motherboard, POS (point of sale/service) device and kiosk maker Ennoconn saw May consolidated revenues of NT$8.425 billion (US$286 million) increase 3.14% sequentially and 13.65% on year, while industrial computing device maker and solution provider Advantech had those of NT$5.614 billion, the second highest-ever monthly level with growth of 17.56% sequentially and 25.12% on year.
