D-Link reports success in Middle East market; 5G CPE shipments to reach 150,000 units in 2025

As the global telecommunications market accelerates 5G network deployment, demand for 5G customer premises equipment (CPE) continues to rise. Taiwanese networking brand D-Link has achieved a major breakthrough in the Middle East during the first half of 2025 by securing a large regional 5G CPE order. The company expects total shipments to reach 150,000 units this year and has already begun deliveries, injecting new growth momentum into its annual operations.

Malaysia requires export permits for Nvidia AI chips to block China trans‑shipments

Malaysia has imposed new export restrictions on high-end artificial intelligence (AI) chips, including those from Nvidia, to curb potential rerouting to China. Effective immediately, all exports, transshipments, and re-exports of US-origin advanced AI chips require a Strategic Trade Permit, the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) said on July 14, 2025. The regulation is based on the Strategic Trade Act (STA) 2010.

Molicel factory fire prompts 3-day air quality monitoring in Kaohsiung

A fire broke out at lithium battery maker Molicel’s factory in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, on July 14, 2025. Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment (MOE) has commissioned National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology to establish a toxic disaster response center in response to air quality concerns. Aside from trace amounts of hydrofluoric acid detected in the morning, no other abnormalities were detected at any of the monitoring points in areas around the factory. The center will continue to monitor the air around the factory and Linhai Industrial Park for the next three days.
