TSMC donates more 12-inch fab equipment to Taiwan govt

Following a previous donation of two sets of 12-inch wafer equipment to Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), TSMC has donated an additional three sets to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) to create space for new equipment. Additionally, on November 27, the Legislative Yuan’s Economics Committee began reviewing the MOEA’s 2025 budget, which includes NT$580 million (approx. US$17.8 million) allocated for the construction of an R&D base for advanced semiconductors.
