Micron mulls investing up to US$160 billion in new Texas plant
US memory chip manufacturer Micron Technology is considering investing at least US$80 billion, and up to US$160 billion in Austin, Texas for a new plant. The move was unveiled when Micron filed a series of applications this week with the Texas State Controller, seeking a site in Lockhart, Caldwell County. The applications describe an eight-phased semiconductor manufacturing facility known as “Project Evergreen.”

California board approves gasoline vehicle sales ban by 2035 with automakers’ support
The Golden State is on track to fully embrace electric vehicles. On Thursday, California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved regulations to completely ban new internal combustion car and truck sales starting from 2035. The new rules now await the federal government’s approval to take effect.
