The latest tough and expanded US restrictions on shipments to China of advanced chips manufacturing equipment, supercomputer chips and high-end AI and HPC chips will not only drastically hobble China’s semiconductor self-sufficiency efforts, but also cloud future business prospects of major semiconductor suppliers in the US, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea.
