China Mobile recently unveiled a chip architecture migration tool called “Xinhe” as part of the country’s efforts to decrease its dependence on Nvidia’s computing chips. The tool facilitates the porting of code written for Nvidia ecosystems to Huawei or other domestic platforms. China Mobile aims to lower migration costs for computing power users and accelerate the adoption of Chinese GPUs in the market.
