NXP Semiconductors and Taiwan-based specialty IC foundry Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS) have announced plans to create a manufacturing joint venture, VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (VSMC), which will build a new 300mm semiconductor wafer manufacturing facility in Singapore.
