Japanese financial firm SBI Holdings has announced the termination of its collaboration with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC) to build a semiconductor plant in Japan. The project was initially launched in August 2023 with the goal of constructing a factory in Miyagi Prefecture, slated to begin production of automotive semiconductors in 2027. However, the plan has now officially been called off.
