Winbond Electronics, a specialty DRAM and flash memory chipmaker, has begun ramping up its DDR4 chip output in the second half of 2024, with the memory output increase expected to boost its sales performance.

Due to weak end-market demand, brands are ordering fewer panels, causing the price of LCD TV panels to drop in July. The panel prices are likely to fall in August.

The US government is considering imposing restrictions as early as August to restrict China’s access to crucial High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) chips and related manufacturing equipment products, which are essential for AI development. This move is seen as a targeted effort against CXMT’s commercialization of its self-developed HBM technology, and will further intensify the tech competition between the US and China.
