South Korea’s vision of a sci-fi future is on full display as the 2025 Future Innovation Technology Expo (FIX 2025) kicked off in Daegu. Dubbed “Korea’s CES,” the massive four-day event features 585 companies across 2,000 booths, all showcasing breakthroughs in mobility, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

South Korean AI chip startup Rebellions has announced a partnership with the Sarawak state government in Borneo, marking its official entry into the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) market. According to South Korea’s News 1 and MTN, Rebellions signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sarawak’s IC design company, SMD Semiconductor, to collaborate on AI chip design and development. The cooperation includes joint semiconductor development, the Sarawak state government’s data center initiatives, and joint marketing activities.

Tron Future and Huneed Technologies have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to jointly develop and market advanced maritime anti-drone systems for both manned and unmanned platforms. The agreement was signed during the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (ADEX 2025), South Korea’s biennial defense trade show.

Samsung Electronics has officially released its first extended reality (XR) headset, the Galaxy XR, priced at KRW2.69 million (approx. US$1,882). It targets the mid-to-high-end market segment, falling between Meta’s Quest 3 and Apple’s Vision Pro.
