Taiwan’s drone industry draws strong interest abroad

The Taiwan Excellence Drone International Business Opportunities Alliance (TEDIBOA) will announce in May its latest results in cultivating new opportunities for Taiwan’s drone industry, according to alliance leader Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC). After more than six months of continuous effort overseas, industry insiders note that international drone makers have now gained insight into the advantages of Taiwan’s supply chain, with particular interest surrounding two key technologies.

Chung-Hsin Electric follows chip supply chain to US, eyes production capacity increase by 20%

Chung-Hsin Electric and Machinery Manufacturing (CHEM) CEO and President, Hui-Chuan Kuo, announced that the company secured a new order worth NT$3.5 billion (approx. US$110 million) in March 2025, bringing its current orders to NT$39.3 billion. The company’s production capacity is set to increase by 20% by 2025, with priority given to GIS products for Japan. Additionally, CHEM plans to establish manufacturing facilities in the US alongside major semiconductor foundries.

AI Expo 2025: Taiwan-US experts analyze key developments in AI

The fourth AI Expo, organized by DIGITIMES, has officially kicked off. Taiwan’s Vice President Bi-Khim Hsiao attended the event, while Minister of Economic Affairs J.W. Kuo delivered a speech during the opening ceremony. AI Fund managing general partner Andrew Ng, industry representatives from AWS, Microsoft, Etron, and Trend Micro were also present at the inauguration.
